About our balms
What’s in Moon Mother Wellness balms?
Every balm starts with organic herbs infused in organic jojoba oil, blended with beeswax, cocoa butter, mango butter and a few drops of essential oils. Every ingredient is certified organic. You’ll find the full ingredient list on each balm’s page.
Are your balms cannabis-free?
Yes. Moon Mother Wellness balms are made without hemp extract. They’re a cannabis-free line from the makers of Moon Mother, formulated by an herbalist with organic herbs and essential oils that work beautifully on their own.
How are the balms made?
We combine organic dried herbs for each recipe, cover them in organic jojoba oil and let them infuse at room temperature for more than 30 days. Then we strain out the herbs and blend the infused oil with beeswax, butters and essential oils, and pour each small batch by hand in Colorado. Read more about herbal infusion.
Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?
Our balms are certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, so they’re never tested on animals. They aren’t vegan, because they’re made with beeswax.
Which balm is right for me?
Dream Balm for your evening wind-down. Skin Balm for dry hands, elbows, heels and cuticles. Wise Woman Comfort Balm for monthly self-care. Muscle Balm for after the hike, the shift or the workout. Can’t decide? The Balm Set has all four.
How do I use them?
Warm a small amount between your fingertips and massage it into your skin. A little goes a long way. Our balms are for external use only. Avoid your eyes and broken skin, and try a small amount on your wrist first if your skin is sensitive. Wash your hands after using Muscle Balm.
Can I use them if I’m pregnant or nursing, or on children?
Please check with your healthcare provider before using our balms if you’re pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or take medication. Our balms are made for adults; keep them out of reach of children.
What’s the difference between the jar and the tin?
It’s the same balm in the same amount (2 oz). The glass jar is lovely on a nightstand or vanity, and the tin is light and easy to toss in a bag.
How should I store my balm, and how long does it last?
Keep it in a cool, dry place out of direct sun, with the lid on. Balms soften in warm weather and firm up again when cool, which doesn’t affect them. For best results, use within 6 months of opening.

How much is shipping?
Shipping is free on every US order, with no minimum. International orders ship for a flat $35. See shipping details.
When will my order ship?
We aim to send orders out within one business day. Orders ship USPS with tracking, and you’ll get email updates until your package is delivered.
What is the Moon Mother Promise?
Not in love? Send it back within 30 days of delivery, even if it’s opened, for an exchange or a full refund. How to start a return.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes. Tick “This order is a gift” at checkout and add your message. We’ll print it on the packing slip and leave the prices off.
Can I use more than one discount code?
Discount codes can’t be combined unless the offer says so. Sign up for our emails for 10% off your first order.

Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. An account saves your addresses and lets you see your order history.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes. Approved shops get wholesale pricing on all products (bundles excluded), with free shipping on orders of $150 or more. Apply for a wholesale account and we’ll reply within 24 hours.
